Vice President, State Regulatory Affairs

Cablevision Systems Corporation is one of the nation's leading telecommunications, media, and entertainment companies. Description

The Vice President will be responsible for coordinating the overall state regulatory agenda for the Company's video, telephone, and broadband businesses in the states where it operates and for ensuring that the Company has strong relationships with the commissioners and staffs at all seven commissions. He/She will need to build and enhance relationships with the staff and commissioners at each state commission through direct meetings and participation in industry groups such as NARUC or NASUCA. Additionally, in coordination with the Cablevision Corporate Government Affairs, Federal Government Affairs, and Field Government Affairs teams, the VP will define the regulatory agenda in each state, and execute strategies to achieve the following priorities:

*In states with regulated video service, identify and maximize opportunities to maintain a level playing field with competitors;
*Maintain the appropriate regulatory environment for the continued rollout of voice services as well as the adequate regulatory framework needed to sustain favorable access to wholesale services from ILECs, as needed;
*Maintain a favorable regulatory environment around broadband services.

The Vice President will also take the lead in working with industry colleagues on regulatory positions, either directly or through the appropriate state cable association or NCTA.


Job Requirements

*15+ years experience in regulatory, political and/or community relations which can include roles within a government agency or a company that interacts with governmental departments.
*In-depth knowledge of the state regulatory and executive branches of government, preferably in one of the states where the Company conducts business: Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Utah, or Wyoming.
*Extensive experience managing complex, multifaceted issues.
*Knowledge of industry issues.
*Ability to interpret and convey Company policies and positions.
*Ability to anticipate response of media, customers, elected officials, and others to Company policies and initiatives.
*Strong communication and strategic planning skills.
*Highly sophisticated ability to handle multiple, diverse tasks with consistent success rate.
