Vice President Public Policy and Communications

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), whose mission is to improve the quality of America's health care, has a challenging executive opportunity for a Vice President of Public Policy And Communications.

Responsibilities include: outreach and communication w/ fed/state govts, employers, consumer organizations, & others to gain active support for NCQA mission, products and services. Leads development and implementation of comprehensive public policy & communications for varied audiences. Encompasses traditional government relations functions, external relations, media relations, organizational positioning. Member NCQA's Sr. leadership. Leads efforts to respond to changes in the health care environment. Provides testimony and speeches to national, regional and local audiences.

Requires: Eight to ten years' health care public policy experience. Knowledge of Federal and State legislative and regulatory environments. Experience working with employer and consumer groups. Graduate degree in Public Policy or related preferred. Individual must possess solid analytical, written and oral communication skills. Political acumen, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills.
