Vice President of Public Policy

If you have government relations experience with Senior Health Care (Retirement/Medicare/Medicaid) and a passion for public policy, we may have the position for you. Our client, a large, nationwide non-profit, is in search of a savvy new Vice President of Public Policy to lead priority initiatives and influence Congressional, National, and State policies regarding Senior Health Care.

This position is a major leadership role and will collaborate with local subsidiaries throughout the country. Our client offers very competitive pay, outstanding benefits, and the opportunity to literally shape public policy on a national scale.

Job Description:

  • Develop and manage priority initiatives in Congress
  • Collaborate with local office subsidiaries to create public policy plans to influence state policy including affordable housing for seniors, funding for the Second Chance Act, and funding of MR/DD providers.
  • Staff the public policy committee and provide training
  • Plan and execute a variety of local office events to communicate public policy stance

Job Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of government relations experience required, executive experience required
  • Experience with Healthcare Public Policy is critical to success in this position
  • Bachelor's Required, Law Degree a major plus
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to create strategic plans to position an organization and their stance on certain public policy
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
