Sodexo is the leading provider of integrated food and facilities management services in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. We are currently in search of a Vice President, Government Affairs position which will help lead Sodexo's efforts in the political arena. This person will support the company's government affairs function by helping the SVP. Provide strategic management to federal, state, and local governmental relations in connection with business development initiatives throughout the company. In addition, he/she will lobby federal, state, and local officials on issues of importance to Sodexo. The individual will serve as a key Company liaison to organizations and associations that are important to the Company's interests.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the SVP of Government Affairs in managing all federal, state and local government relations for the Company. Lobby federal, state, and local officials (elected and appointed) on key issues. Represent Company with associations and organizations representing public policy issues and political constituencies important to the Company‚s business interests. Monitor all legislation at the local, state and federal levels which may impact the Company's business interests. Monitor hearings and regulatory proceedings at all levels of government involving issues important to the Company's business interests. Prepare analysis, testimony, policy papers, regulatory comments and other materials necessary for company public representation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Undergraduate and advanced degrees with emphasis on public policy fields (law degrees is a plus, but not a requirement).

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Excellent judgment, Strong leadership skills, Knowledge of the legislative process, Knowledge of lobbying laws, Excellent writing and verbal skills.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 8-10 years combined governmental affairs experience which includes staff experience in legislative and executive branches of government at various levels. Direct experience/familiarity with state and local political and legislative process is a decided plus. Experience/familiarity with the political compliance field at different levels of government is a plus.
