Vice President, Client Services

DCI Group is currently seeking a Vice President, Client Services who will lead the strategy development for client's public affairs needs, creating and executing cutting-edge communications strategies that meaningfully and measurably advance client public affairs objectives.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing media messages and themes for external audiences.
  • Planning, organizing, and executing news media events for national and local experts.
  • Preparing and presenting complex materials or highly complex issues before a wide variety of audiences.
  • Monitoring news media and other public forums and maintaining awareness of political influences and developments related to the client's public affairs and strategic goals.
  • Briefing the clients and senior management on pending news media and other public communication encounters.
  • Developing sources of information, identifying and analyzing issues, develops\ing options and alternatives, coordinating findings, and preparing written reports or oral briefings to clients and management.
  • Developing and implementing communications plans that incorporate measurable goals, timetables, and strategies.

The successful candidate will have a mastery of communication principles, methods, practices and techniques, analytical methods and interpersonal relations practices. They are a strategic thinker who can conceptualize and execute advanced, integrated and clever publicity campaigns. An entrepreneurial minded spirit with desire and proven ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment is essential. Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners across functions to achieve results is required.

Candidates must possess:

  • Knowledge of energy industry issues desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of media operations such as newsroom responsibilities and editorial decision-making. 
  • Experience in management of programs targeting specific audiences and communicating a client story or message.
  • Experience in corporate communications and/or agency with at least two years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with social and new media outlets such as blogs, podcasts and video streams.
  • 8 plus years of successful experience working with national, state and local media and establishing productive working relationships with editors, reporters, etc.
  • Track record as a spokesperson and success in managing media relations.
