Stakeholder Relations Lead

In a relatively short timeframe, Talisman has demonstrated success in accelerating its growth strategy in unconventional shale gas. The Company currently holds 214,000 net acres in the Pennsylvania Marcellus and is positioned for a significant increase in drilling and production in the Marcellus shale next year.

Position overview and responsibilities 

Supporting our US affiliate operations in New York and Pennsylvania, the Stakeholder Relations Leader is accountable for effectively and strategically building and managing the company's stakeholder relations program. This position will be primarily responsible for developing positive relations with local community stakeholders in order to proactively identify and mitigate social issues that could potentially impact operations. The position will also ensure corporate community relations and stakeholder engagement standards and protocols are followed by employees and contractors to ensure global alignment and develop a reputation as a safe and ethically, socially and environmentally responsible operator and corporate citizen. The Stakeholder Relations Leader will also be responsible for executing corporate community relations programs in country as required.

Deliverables for this role include: 

* Establishing a consistent and professional approach to managing community and landowner relations that meets the company's strategic objectives and maintains a positive corporate reputation.

* Understanding the ethos and ethics of Talisman Energy's US affiliate and be able to embody and represent our values

* Leading and motivating a geographically dispersed team

* Working collaboratively with internal functions such as legal and government relations

* Coaching technical and operations leaders on presentations and messaging

Education, experience, technical Skills

* 15 + years of experience within stakeholder relations
* Able to use appropriate interpersonal styles, and communication methods, to gain acceptance and influence cross functional teams
* Have the ability to develop a broad network of contacts with local communities and regulatory entities
* Superior communication skills
