Sr. Manager, Communications/PR

Working on iconic brands such as Advil, Centrum, Robitussin and ChapStick, this is a communications role that is vital to the development and execution of high-quality public relations activities. The successful applicant will join a dedicated, highly motivated team that is responsible for providing effective strategic communications counsel and implementing communications programs to Pfizer's Consumer Health (PCH) Business Unit.

This position reports to the North American Communications Director for PCH. The incumbent is responsible for providing effective strategic communications counsel, develop and execute communications initiatives as well as strategies and messages for the region in alignment with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Identify opportunities where communications can help advance strategy, address issues or strengthen alignment or collaboration and deliver communication programs/messages to achieve goals
- Develop and execute PR programs supporting brand objectives, advertising, digital and social media
- Develop executive briefings on key internal and external issues in collaboration with other BU colleagues
- Coordinate with Global Media Relations to manage external issues and crises
- Manage business milestones and issues with integrated communications plans tailored to key internal and external audiences, in partnership with Worldwide Communications Centers of Excellence and other business partners
- Manage creation and production of key communication channels internally and externally including multimedia, websites, videos, events, etc.
- Develop and track appropriate metrics to evaluate effectiveness of communications plans, messages and channels/ vehicles
- Build relationships and networks in North America to advance PCH's communication strategy and activities

Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent required, preferably in communications, English or related field.
- Experience in healthcare/CPG PR sector strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience and demonstrated skills in developing, managing and delivering communications strategies and plans in a large, complex organization at the executive level
- Experience working in a matrixed environment with multiple business units, able to resolve complex issues and manage internal and external audiences

- Srong interpersonal skills with emphasis on leadership, relationship development and project management
- Ability to work successfully with and provide counsel to senior executives at the highest levels
- Expert fluency in English (written, spoken, read)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Able to align and integrate communications strategy with business strategy
- Able to develop, deliver and measure communications strategies and plans
- Expertise in communications concepts, practices, strategies and tactics based on understanding of key audiences and corporate objectives
- Confident, strategic thinker who can quickly grasp complex issues and distill information in clear and concise messages that audiences can understand
- Strong analytical, planning, attention to detail and prioritizing skills
- A drive for results and ability to achieve results through teams, exerting influence without direct authority
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with confidence with various levels and functions
