JOB DESCRIPTION
The Readiness & Operations Team (RnO) is responsible for providing central support functions for the Compensation, Benefits and Performance Management organization. This includes Communications, Readiness, Service Delivery/Customer Service, Core Operations and Project Management.
The Sr. Communications Manager role will be accountable for setting and executing communication strategies to ensure the successful implementation of communication activities for large scale initiatives and worldwide annual processes for Microsoft's Compensation, Benefits and Performance Management teams. This will include partnering with the leadership for the Global Compensation and Performance Management teams to develop comprehensive communication strategies to help achieve short and long term business objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing communication & readiness strategies for our annual worldwide Performance Management process. Includes developing recommendations and obtaining approvals for communications strategy. Upon approval, develop and execute the change management plan in partnership with a worldwide team to introduce impactful change.
- Developing, driving, executing communication strategy for the Global Compensation organization to support long term business goals.
- Developing and driving the communications, readiness and training (when applicable) plans for large scale worldwide initiatives. Includes development of core set of messaging and educational materials in anticipation of audience response or impact.
- Developing key messaging for new and/or broad reaching initiatives and ensuring effective change management efforts in coordination with broader HR or companywide initiatives. Targeted audiences could include all levels of employees, managers, executives and business leaders.
- Assessing current training resources and determine best go forward approach while identifying integration opportunities for broad based training.
- Assemble, lead and drive all communication and readiness sub teams/virtual teams to ensure successful delivery of communication activities.
- Establishing measures of success to ensure effective communications/readiness campaigns.
This role will maintain key relationships with business partners across Compensation, Benefits and Performance Management. This position will also have critical relationships with stakeholders globally, business partners such as Internal Communications & Public Relations, Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, and HR Teams worldwide to develop and deploy a holistic communications plan and service delivery. External communications will be required and will vary over time based on projects & deliverables. This role will also manage external vendors on training, content development and design work as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications (required)
- A minimum of 5 years of communication management experience is required
- Bachelor's Degree in communications or related discipline
- Proven excellence in the development and execution of communication/readiness plans
- Proven global communications experience (strategy & dev for all methods of communications)
- Excellent cross group collaboration
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience developing user education materials
- Experience working with a global client/customer base
Qualifications (preferred)
- MBA
- Previous HR experience
