- Business development, including the development of presentations and client pitches
- Overall management and development of professional staff
- A variety of public affairs/government affairs and client-focused marketing activities
- The management of senior level client relationships
- Has been a top/senior person in a previous agency or organization based in Washington D.C., focusing on public affairs and/or government affairs, preferably with an established portfolio of clients and significant business development opportunities
- A proven track record in securing and developing new clients, having a strong network to facilitate such and having excellent client management skills
- A proven track record of implementing strategic and creative public affairs and government affairs campaigns
- An extensive understanding and background in public and government affairs, federal and government regulatory issues including specific experience working with lobbyists as part of their team
- Specific experience desirable in federal issues including, but not limited to:
o Financial Services
o Economic Development
o Federal Contracting
- Strategic writing skills, including the ability to write/sell public affairs campaigns as well as client development, press kits, public affairs campaigns, releases and pitch letters
