APCO Worldwide, a global integrated communication firm headquartered in Washington D.C., is seeking a senior manager to vice president level individual for its business development team to serve as a strategic partner and counselor to APCO's staff on new business opportunities.
We are seeking individuals for this newly created role who can bring their prior public affairs/public relations experience and proven success in cultivating business opportunities to help further develop best practices and an energetic culture for business development at APCO. You will have responsibility for fully managing a portfolio of business development opportunities from inception to completion by identifying internal talent to participate in respective business opportunities, leading and contributing to strategic brainstorms, driving proposal/presentation development including coordination with APCO's creative studio and managing time/expenses through the development process. You will also work closely with our leaders for existing clients to identify ideas and opportunities for organic growth. Lastly, through your broad range of industry contacts, you will serve as a highly visible representative of the firm and be involved in proactive networking activities to solicit new prospects and business leads.
Skills
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree and eight or more years of experience that includes both successful client relationship management in a public relations/public affairs agency and business development responsibilities. We are seeking individuals who are creative and strategic thinkers, skilled facilitators and strong writers. Additionally, this role requires strong team players who have the ability to see the bigger picture as well as roll their sleeves up.
