Role Definition

We are looking for a talented and experienced public relations manager to lead our core PR activities for our service provider business. This represents a very significant part of Parallels' focus, covering virtualization and automation technologies for hosters, ISVs and SMBs.

We are looking for someone to drive the day-to-day media and community outreach through a range of activities, including press releases, case studies, events and social media tools.  The role also involves working on Parallels' annual user and partner event, Parallels Summit as well as uniting the global Parallels team across several countries. 

This exciting role offers significant room for future growth and reports to the Director of Worldwide Communications. He/she will also work with the President of the business unit and have direct interaction with our Chairman/CEO, who places a very high value on marketing and communications.

The main responsibilities for this global position are:

  • Develop PR strategies and campaigns worldwide to support service provider business objectives
  • Manage and co-ordinate service provider PR calendar
  • Increase impact of SP stories in mainstream IT and business press
  • Write and manage Parallels press releases
  • Liaise with partners to support their press releases
  • Identify and draft case studies
  • Co-ordinate analyst relations for service provider business
  • Secure speaking opportunities and media briefings at key industry events
  • Manage and develop social networking initiatives for service provider business
  • Support product launches and updates
  • Support Parallels Summit co-ordination team and manage media and analyst involvement
  • Support partner and customer communications

 

Required Skills and Talents

  • Four-year college degree from a highly selective school
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in B2B PR
  • Analyst relations experience
  • Speaker platform and events experience
  • Mixture of agency and in-house PR experience
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • High enthusiasm for technology
  • Proactive and creative
  • High levels of understanding and respect for other company functions and ability to work well with them as a team (particularly marketing, sales and engineering)
  • Strong interpersonal effectiveness, positive attitude, strong work ethic, high level of flexibility, able to work well with others
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging, demanding and rapidly changing environment
