High-tech industry association with small Washington office seeks Senior Manager, Public Policy. Primary responsibilities include issue advocacy, PAC management and communications with member companies. Issues include energy, technology, trade, and tax issues affecting the solar/PV and semiconductor industries. Candidates should possess strong presentation and writing skills, an ability to learn quickly and experience with people at all levels. Minimum six years relevant experience required. With limited supervision, the Senior Manager will manage several functions of the government relations program.
-- Assist Director with implementation of SEMI's public policy agenda.
-- Take a leadership role on at least one public policy issue with a high impact on SEMI members (such as PV/solar energy policy). Coordinate industry input to policymakers and communicate developments and results to industry stakeholders.
-- Direct PAC activities including development of the fundraising and spending plans, oversee receipt of industry contributions, attend congressional fundraisers and ensure required FEC reports are submitted.
-- In conjunction with Director, support the Public Policy Committee of the SEMI North America Advisory Board.
-- Responsible for timely coordination of meetings and briefings with SEMI and U.S. Government officials.
-- Assist the Director with the development of congressional and constituent relations program.
-- Prepare written and oral reports for timely dissemination to SEMI staff and members.
-- Position requires high degree of good judgment and expertise in communications with government/congressional officials, SEMI members and SEMI staff at all levels.
