Details Save the Children US, the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need in the U.S. and around the world seeks a Senior Director, PPA in International Humanitarian Response to be responsible to develop and lead Save the Children's (SC) policy and advocacy response on a broad portfolio of countries affected by conflict or natural disasters where Save the Children is providing major humanitarian and recovery assistance to ensure that the rights and well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, are secured; Improve the reach and scope of Save the Children's International (SCI) humanitarian advocacy through collaboration with wider SCI membership; Raise awareness, shape legislation and secure federal funding on issues of importance to women and children; Shape and represent Save the Children's views in meetings with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs); Represent Save the Children on the various civilian-military relations working groups.

Requires 10-15 years of experience in international relations or other relevant field; Advanced degree in international relations or relevant field; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines; Experience managing and motivating people within the context of emergency response; Experience living, working, travelling abroad with some experience working in emergency response environments; Sure grasp of the humanitarian environment and the US foreign policy community; Superior ability to operate under tight deadlines in a high profile, high stress environment with a wide variety of diverse players; Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and collaborate with others; Facility for writing clearly and to the point; Accomplished briefer and speaker; Dedication to Save the Children's goals.
