As the Senior Director of Global Government affairs, you will be responsible for the development and execution of Micron's global public policy agenda and for leading and managing Micron's global government affairs team. This position will be based in either Boise, Idaho or Washington, D.C. and will report to the Deputy General Counsel. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developing and implementing Micron's global public policy agenda.
- Establishing, developing, and maintaining effective working relationships with lawmakers and government agencies around the globe.
- Leading and coordinating a government affairs team responsible for Micron's international, federal, state, and local government relations.
- Managing Micron's outside government-relations consultants and working effectively with international trade associations and coalitions.
- Building and managing outside government relations consultants and industry and legislative coalitions to assist in accomplishing Micron's global public policy agendas.
- Understanding Micron's global businesses in order to effectively identify, develop, and advocate company positions and interests.
- Working closely with Micron's senior management at various global sites.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- 8+ years of relevant experience, with international public policy experience highly desirable.
- Experience working with elected officials, legislative/regulatory leaders, and staff in substantive policy areas (technology industry experience preferred).
- Demonstrated success in influencing decision-makers, thinkers, and policy makers locally and globally.
- Effective relationship building and collaboration skills.
- Experience and demonstrated success organizing, leading and managing a diverse team.
- Proven ability in the development, management and advocacy of policies and positions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with Micron senior management.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (graduate degree in international relations, public policy, or a related discipline a plus).
