The Consumer Electronics Association has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic communications professional to serve as Senior Director of Communications. The successful candidate will support the SVP, Industry Affairs, and direct communications and public relations programs designed to promote CEA and its member companies and advance policy positions of the consumer electronics industry.
This position involves development and implementation of strategic communications campaigns in support of public policy initiatives (broadband, trade, intellectual property, environment/energy) and growing the consumer electronics industry. Will also develop and oversee CEA's earned media efforts, including writing and editing a variety of communications materials.
Managing a staff of five communications professionals, you will also act as CEA media contact and spokesperson and represent CEA in public speaking engagements, and follow new technology developments for dissemination and promotion to media, analysts, and other parties.
Requires at least 8-12 years experience in communications, public relations or public affairs on advanced technology related programs; expertise in strategic communication strategies and tactics to promote industry priorities and public policy positions; writing, editing and publication of earned media pieces; plus at minimum a bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field. Must have outstanding oral communication and presentation skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure, and strong analytical and writing skills.
