General Description: The Senior Account Manager is the primary client-facing contact for a number of grassroots consulting and outsourcing clients. The Senior Account Manager is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and development, as well as signing new clients and participating in the development of the department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take the lead on a portfolio of 6-12 clients, and be the main contact for those clients and their needs.
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction and renewal rates.
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans for clients that incorporate traditional techniques (mail, phones, canvassing) with online and web 2.0 techniques (email, web sites, social networks).
- Counsel clients on grassroots best practices for achieving legislative, membership and/or communications goals.
- Oversee client conversions to in-house software suite, and train clients on the relevant parts of the software.
- Plan, oversee and test any custom software solutions and custom programming for clients.
- Write newsletters, calls to action, web content for clients as needed.
- Develop leads and sign new clients as part of larger department goals.
- Attend events and conferences as a representative of the company and the department.
- Blog regularly on corporate blog.
Required:
- BA in political science, communications, international affairs or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience on campaigns, on Capitol Hill and/or in the government affairs department of a corporation or association.
- Experience writing campaign plans, marketing plans and/or field plans.
- Strong knowledge of grassroots concepts and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of how Capitol Hill works, especially best practices for effective constituent communications.
- Understanding of social media platforms and ability to integrate them into traditional campaigns.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Ability to research issues quickly and thoroughly and develop succinct messaging based on research.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, as well as a part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and finish multiple tasks quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software suite and tools.
Desired:
- Familiarity with PAC solicitations, compliance and filing.
- Sales and client recruitment experience.
- Basic HTML knowledge.
- Experience managing volunteers and/or staff.
- Interest in politics.
