Role: 

The Director of Corporate PR, is chartered with the development, delivery, and management of a plan and the communication and progress reporting of strategic messages internally and externally; staging of and creative use of press releases and news announcements; strong hand in development of speeches and presentations; creative use of customer success stories; develop roster of speaking engagements and event participation; and executive training and briefing.? A key approach will be to focus on pulling relevant information from across Smith Micro Software to drive the Corporate PR program that is synchronized with industry PR plans which will be developed by the Director of Industry PR.?  This position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.?

Responsibilities: 

• The Director of Industry PR, you will develop a Smith Micro Software PR plan as the base to stage news flow, speakerships and an active press and influencer program.?
• This role will manage executive speaking programs and executive biographies.?
• Develops and maintains relationships with divisional executives and company evangelists, as well as with key media and analysts.?
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters and other key influencers.?
  Manages external corporate PR agency and sets strategy for how best to leverage.?
• Interface with advertising and other corporate marketing functions in order to provide integrated marketing campaigns.? Maintains awareness of campaign roadmap and key messages and incorporates them into PR plans.?
• Collaborate with outside PR agency to execute programs to ensure consistent localization of messaging.?
• Determine best use of reporting tools, message pull-through metrics, and program measurement framework.?

Requirements: 

• 10+? years public relations experience required and be an experienced manager of both people and programs.?
• BS or BA degree, preferably in communications- or marketing-related discipline.?
• Very strong writing and positioning skills for all materials, including business communications.? Branding background would be very helpful.?
• Demonstrated hands-on management, planning, and bringing focus to the corporate PR function.?
• Proven and documented accomplishment in the development and execution of worldwide public relations programs.?
• Excellent verbal communication andleadership skills - including collaboration, status communication and change-management skills.?
• Ability to influence senior management ranks; excellent negotiation and presentation skills.?
• Ability to develop and maintain internal operational procedures that support communications programs.?
