DCI Group is currently seeking to fill the position of Account Executive in our Client Services division with a strong focus on public relations.
Job Responsibilities:
General responsibilities include: managing tasks on several client projects concurrently, interacting with internal client services teams on a daily basis and communicating key messages to defined target audiences.
The Account Executive will be required to:
- Research, write, promote and distribute press releases to targeted media outlets.
- Work within an account team to develop client proposals and implement the PR activity.
- Create and implement strategic media relations/communications plans that create favorable coverage, incorporating clients' key messages.
- Stay current on related news coverage; understand, analyze and anticipate news cycles in order to place coalitions in media outlets in a timely manner.
- Act as a liaison on a regular basis with clients and the media.
- Build and foster relationships and networking opportunities with colleagues, clients and the media.
Requirements:
Three to five years experience in a similar position required, preferably in similar industry.
The successful candidate must exhibit a firm understanding of public relations tools, demonstrate solid written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to understand and navigate a diverse set of stakeholder interests. Finally, it is essential that the individual selected for this position be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization and be viewed as a highly collaborative team player.
The ideal candidate would possess the following skills:
- Complex project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Goal driven and extremely detailed-oriented
- Flexibility, determination, enthusiasm and ability to cope well under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of communication styles
- Experience in and/or knowledge base of telecommunications industry a plus
- Consulting experience a plus
