Goodwill Industries
International, Inc. (GII) seeks candidate for the Public Policy Specialist
position. The successful applicant will support the Director of Government
Affairs and Public Policy and will be an integral part of Goodwill Industries
International's government affairs and public policy team. Their primary
responsibilities will include focusing on tracking, monitoring, researching, and
reporting on issues that effect or have the potential to effect local Goodwill
agencies and their program participants.
This position requires the
ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing; the
ability to deal professionally with persons at all levels; and excellent grammar
and proofreading skills. Moderate to advanced competency with Microsoft Office
software is required.
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in
political science, social science, or related field; 2-3 years experience in
policy analysis and advocacy at the state and/or federal level; or advanced
degree in a policy-related field; Experience and ease using various computer
applications (Expertise using online Grassroots mobilization products, such as
CapWiz or Vocus, a plus; and demonstrated ability to monitor and lobby Congress,
federal agencies, and related federal and state governmental
entities.
