Responsibilities:
- Serve as day-to-day contact with influentials on client's behalf. Research, understand and anticipate influentials' interests, needs and preferences in order to provide value-added service to and build relationships with policymakers, think tank leaders, academics, media and other audiences.
- Have active understanding and awareness of issues, marketing objectives, technology and products, in order to provide strategic planning and counsel.
- Experience with intellectual property and intellectual property rights, including policy, issues management and stakeholder outreach on issues relating to piracy and counterfeiting.
- Develop and manage an communication campaigns, create messaging on behalf of clients.
- Write statements, press releases, op-eds, briefing documents and other collateral. Mange collateral material development from concept to delivery.
- Research and develop third party engagement plan to solicit feedback and perception of clients competition and industry position.
- Solicit feedback from influentials regarding their perception of clients and issues.
- Develop and present strategic communications and engagement plans that clarify business goals, situation analysis, challenges, solutions, measurement.
- Have active understanding and awareness of issues, marketing objectives, products and services, in order to provide strategic planning and counsel to the client and media.
- Manage client budgets
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or above in communications, journalism, political science or related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years professional experience.
- Strong understanding of policy issues (including international, federal and state level), particularly as they relate to intellectual property, technology, financial services, telecommunications or healthcare focused legislation and regulation.
- Strong ability to make strategic recommendations for reaching third party influencers and the media.
- Outstanding communications skills (oral and written) are a must.
- Agency experience is a plus.
- Must be able to work successfully in a highly dynamic environment, across teams, and in concert with multiple decision makers.
- Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
