BCSC is the voice of the retail property industry, promoting retail-led regeneration and growth through research and guidance, top-end industry awards, educational opportunities, public sector dialogue and an extensive range of events and networking opportunities throughout the year.
BCSC is looking to recruit an experienced public affairs professional to support the development of government and public sector policy relationships with regards to the retail property industry.
Based in London and responsible to the Executive Director, the appointed person will support the execution of a public engagement strategy in line with the priorities of the BCSC Business Plan, working to accomplish the objectives agreed by the Board under the organisation's Chief Executive and President.
Working closely with BCSC's research and communications personnel, this astute and capable individual will engage with the organisation's committee structure and the Board to build policy positions on behalf of BCSC's broad membership.
It is imperative that the successful candidate is able to absorb and analyse the latest industry and policy issues and advise BCSC on appropriate responses on behalf of their membership. An understanding of the retail property industry and key issues is therefore desirable.
An ability to work in partnership with industry bodies and build strong alliances with other stakeholders is essential to the success of this role, and communicate the value of BCSC's research, guidance, environmental and education initiatives to all levels of Government.
You will be an enthusiastic, self motivated individual, who is able to work as part of a team.
You will be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of previous policy and public affairs work.
Salary is in the range £30-36k per annum, although more may be available for an exceptional candidate.
