Public Affairs Coordinator

LogistiCare is the nation's leading managed healthcare organization specializing in the management of healthcare transportation benefits. LogistiCare's client base consists of state and local government agencies (Medicaid agencies, transit authorities, school boards), managed care organizations and hospitals. LogistiCare is not a provider of transportation vehicles (we do not physically own vehicles). Instead, LogistiCare manages a network of transportation providers and provides the administrative infrastructure to authorize services and provide billing and claims payment functionality allowing LogistiCare to offer a complete outsourcing solution to our clients.

LogistiCare seeks a Public Affairs Coordinator for our Corporate office located in College Park, GA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Primary responsibility for the development and management of a web based legislative and regulatory tracking system

- Provide research and analysis of public policy, legislative and regulatory issues in the social services and healthcare arena

- Produce value added products such as reports, graphic illustrations, power point presentations, position papers and surveys relevant to public policy issues

- Develop and implement a distribution system of relevant products to senior management and operations staff.

- Continuously monitor key information sources such as federal and state agencies and identify public policy issues to be addressed in the legislative and regulatory agenda

- Maintain the corporate campaign contribution process, including distribution and data base management

- Maintain a process to ensure compliance with all required state and federal ethics and campaign laws

- Build and maintain a grass roots database of public officials and corporate employees

- Liaison with national political organizations

Education:

- Bachelor's degree required or education/ experience equivalency


Experience:

- Experience in working with lobbyists and grassroots politics

- Three to five years of corporate state government affairs or state government experience with thorough understanding of the legislative and advocacy process


Skills:

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- High degree of teamwork, organizational and project management skills

- Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities with high quality execution and performance

- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft operating programs - Word, Outlook, Excel Publisher and PowerPoint

- Experience working with web based nationally oriented legislative and regulatory tracking systems


Environmental and Working Conditions:

- Approximately 85% of work time is conducted in an office setting and approximately 15% of work time requires travel

Physical and Mental Requirements:

- Ability to prioritize / crisis management

- Demonstrated ability in: decision-making: selecting the most appropriate course of action in a given situation

- Interpersonal skills: establishing personal and professional relationships among diverse internal and external publics

- Establish and maintain collaborative partnership alliances across broad range of professionals

- Maintain a high energy level: comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
