Public Affairs Assistant

Foley & Lardner LLP, a national law firm, seeks a Public Affairs Assistant for its DC office as part of the support team for the Government & Public Policy Practice Group.

The Public Affairs Assistant should be highly organized as well as professional. Job responsibilities include a wide range of projects including coordinating client surveys, research and analysis, creating presentations, tracking legislation, scheduling appointments with Congressional offices, and assisting with appropriations requests process. Administrative tasks include client intakes, coordinating client invoices, filing expenses, and time entry. An additional responsibility is to draft and file lobby disclosure filings for the practice group and to assist with PAC activities and filings.

The ideal candidate will possess 2 to 3 years of administrative and/or research experience. Must be detailed oriented; possess exceptional follow-through skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; be a self-starter; capable of handling multiple tasks with shifting priorities and tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is desirable. Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of legislative and political process desired.
