Provide support to public relations and community relations groups within Corporate Communications department.

50%: Manage incoming media inquiries; track media coverage and develop daily media news reports for company leadership; support department projects (may include project management, writing, event coordination, or others); manage and submit invoicing; maintain department files and archives; support additional projects as needed.

50%: Manage inbound and outbound communications regarding grant proposals (including correspondence generation, documentation tracking, deadline notifications, etc.); support the Community Relations Manager; maintain schedule of event and sponsorship obligations; coordinate corporate and local volunteer program activities; provide logistical and communication support for the SUPERVALU Foundation; maintain department files; and other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four-year degree in English, communications or related field preferred
  • Experience in a communications-oriented environment preferred
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion, integrity and sound judgment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; extremely detail-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven interpersonal skills in a high-profile environment; ability to effectively and appropriately communicate with people at all levels
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environment under critical deadlines; excellent team orientation and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively multitask; proven ability to manage and meet deadlines
