The Washington Campus, a non-profit, non-partisan consortium of 17 prominent US business schools, is seeking an energetic, highly capable person for the position of President & CEO.  Based in Washington, DC, and using the resources of our nation's capital, The Washington Campus has over 30 years' experience providing graduate level courses for business students and executive seminars for corporate executives who seek to develop a deeper understanding of the public policy process.

The President/CEO serves as the Washington Campus's principal spokesperson and representative, responsible to the Board of Directors.  The position requires but is not limited to:  developing and promoting Campus programs; expanding relations with the academic community, corporate executives and government offices; fundraising for special projects; and overseeing fiscal management and administration.  A successful candidate will have an MBA or other equivalent advanced degree; knowledge of and/or experience working in the US government and higher education; and strong communication and presentation skills.  Special consideration will be given for experience in managing and growing a non-profit organization.  A competitive salary and benefits package is offered. The President and CEO will:

  • Serve as the chief executive officer responsible to the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for the continued success and growth of The Washington Campus; 
  • Serve as the spokesperson and primary representative of the Campus in the academic, business, and government communities;
  • Be a strategic leader who is instrumental in promoting the vision and visibility of The Washington Campus to the academic and corporate communities; 
  • Be responsible for the development of new programs, including marketing and promotion, and direct selective fundraising efforts for special projects;
  • Develop new and expand existing relationships with key government offices, corporate executives, and the academic community;
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with the 17 university consortium members; 
  • Provide sound fiscal management of Campus business.

Strong candidates will:

  • Have an MBA or equivalent advanced degree with  a record of progressive senior management experience;
  • Have a strong team-building leadership style and excellent presentation, communications, and networking skills; 
  • Have a thorough understanding of the public policy process and a substantial knowledge of Washington. DC, insiders, in both the corporate and political environment;
  • Receive special consideration for experience managing and growing a small organization.


The Washington Campus

The Washington Campus is a non-partisan, not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 educational organization committed to educating current and future business executives on the public policy process.  It is a consortium of the business schools of 17 prominent US universities. The Washington Campus Board of Directors includes deans of the member business schools as well as corporate executives and former government officials.

With a fundamental commitment to educating graduate business students and corporate executives, the Washington Campus presents elective courses providing graduate credit for MBA and EMBA students, as well as corporate-specific seminars for executives. The seminars reflect the non-partisan, business-oriented mission of the organization to foster an understanding of the critical public policy dimension in today's business environment.

Courses are held in Washington, DC, providing access to highly qualified speakers and exposure at sites where decisions are made.  Since its founding in 1978, more than 6400 MBA students from The Washington Campus consortium member schools have enrolled in elective courses for graduate credit, and more than 5200 corporate executives have benefitted from its executive seminars on business and public policy.
