Credit
Union National Association (CUNA), based in Washington, D.C., 1 block from the
Archives/Navy Metro stop, is the premier national trade association serving
America's credit unions. .In partnership with state credit union leagues, CUNA
provides many services to credit unions, including representation, information
and public relations.
CUNA is seeking a Political Program Manager to
manage fundraising programs for a $4 million per cycle PAC and outreach to
Democratic federal candidates and political committees. This position is
responsible for:
o Managing the design, implementation, and promotion
of fundraising programs such as Payroll Deduction and Deduct-a-Buck to state
leagues and credit unions.
o Managing individual donor recognition and
state league goal tracking..
o Liaising with political campaigns,
national party committees, and related entities to assist in CUNA's political
efforts on behalf of supported candidates, with particular attention on
Democratic candidates and committees.
o Working with candidate
fundraisers to coordinate CUNA-hosted events on behalf of Members and candidates
at Credit Union House and with state leagues and credit unions on local events.
o Managing administration of PAC to include upkeep of political affairs
database, clearing and processing of disbursement checks, maintaining candidate
budgets, tracking of prior approval by member credit unions and occasionally
assisting PAC accounting department in processing receipts.
The
successful candidate will have at least two years of experience with a PAC,
campaign, or other advocacy organization, familiarity with political
fundraising, and basic knowledge of FEC law. Excellent presentation, writing and
communications skills, as well as superior database and general IT skills are
required. A Bachelors' degree in Political Science, Government, History or
equivalent work experience is required. Position includes the potential for
travel up to 20 days per year.
