Altria Client Services' role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified manager to join our Government Affairs department in Washington, DC.
The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the Law department to ensure absolute and total compliance with all applicable legal and ethical requirements.
Specific accountabilities include:
• Managing the daily operations for Altriapac, USTeam PAC and Ste Michelle Wine Estates PAC, and affiliated state PACs including: the budgeting, approving, and tracking process and compliance.
• Developing and executing Altriapac communication strategies with eligible employees of Altria which include the planning and executing of Altriapac employee engagement events.
• Assisting Senior Manager, Political Outreach in the development and implementation of a strategic plan for support of GA legislative issues, initiatives and programs as they pertain to Altriapac.
• Developing and managing political fundraising activities on behalf of State and Federal Government Affairs.
• Commissioning political polling and intelligence and disseminates to relevant internal stakeholders.
• Creating and disseminating regular political and electoral communications.
• Assisting in the development of legislative/regulatory strategies as identified by Altria's companies and Government Affairs.
• Producing accurate and timely updates on political contributions and provide reports to SVP, GA. This includes maintaining accurate reports on progress against budgetary objectives.
• Following and adhering to federal, state and local ethics, laws and reporting requirements.
Specific Skills Qualifications include:
• Extensive knowledge of the electoral and legislative process at all levels of Government.
• Understanding of the Altria business needs in the legislative arena.
• Knowledge of Altria and its companies' businesses.
• Extensive knowledge of PAC solicitation and communication strategies and various electoral campaign practices.
• Broad exposure to government affairs, political campaigns, and the legislative process.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written political communications and political fundraising with a state or national political candidate or committees.
• Experience on Capitol Hill and/or political campaigns desired.
• Excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation) including the ability to create written communication and develop and give presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills to relate to individuals on various levels.
• Strategic skills to develop solicitation and communication strategies for PAC fundraising.
• Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to PAC eligible employees and shareholders on Altriapac.
• Proficiency in Power Point and Excel.
• Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines, and keep focused on many projects simultaneously.
• Ability to interact and constructively engage with senior executives, the operating companies, elected officials and the policy group community.
