This internship will support the federal, state and advocacy work of the ZERO TO THREE Policy Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination and planning of Congressional Baby Caucus briefings and events.
- Attend other briefings hosted by national early childhood organizations and Congressional Committee hearings on early childhood issues
- Research current early childhood issues in Congress and help to prepare federal legislative updates for the Baby Monitor
- Conduct and synthesize research in response to requests from Members of Congress
- Write a feature article and state profiles for the Baby Monitor, an electronic newsletter that has approximately 9,500 subscribers
- Help accomplish a comprehensive update of our state initiatives database, including revising existing entries and making a call for new entries through the Baby Monitor.
- Help to prepare for upcoming policy/advocacy trainings and meetings
Skills and Experience:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including writing, editing and proofreading
- Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple and changing responsibilities effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Education
- Junior/Senior Undergraduate Student or Graduate Student in a related field
