PAC & Events Administrator

Job Description :

Political Action Committee (PAC) responsibilities:
• Manage the administration of The Babcock & Wilcox Company Political Action Committee (B&W PAC)
• Create, plan and implement the B&W PAC solicitations
• Ensure all B&W PAC activities are in compliance with applicable Federal laws and regulations
• Manage disbursement of all PAC contributions in conjunction with office of the B&W PAC Treasurer
• Establish annual budget for B&W PAC contributions in conjunction with the PAC Board; responsible for tracking budget
• Represent the B&W PAC as needed before all levels of employees
• Deliver B&W PAC presentations to various eligible employees around the country and B&W PAC Board Members
• Create and produce internal B&W PAC reports, newsletters and analysis
• Plan and coordinate fund-raising events for the B&W PAC; maintain tracking system for fund-raising events
• Plan and prepare for B&W PAC board meetings and B&W PAC receptions
• Update and maintain B&W PAC contributors database and B&W PAC website
Events Coordinator Responsibilities:
• Plan fund-raising and other political events for B&W Washington Operations
• Plan and execute corporate events and meetings, including setup and tear down
• Assume other administrative office responsibilities, including corporate communications, as requested in support of the office goals and objectives
Administrative Duties:
• Update various company mailing lists
• Assist with ordering office supplies and catering inventory
• Assist with day-to-day issues that are consistent with managing a small office
• Meet and greet office visitors
• Process check requests
• Assist in developing PowerPoint presentations, expense reports, and other administrative matters as required by the office manager and staff
Job Requirements :
• Strong, creative writing skills
• Effective research experience
• Strong project management/coordination
• Minimum two years work related experience as PAC administrator or related field in a corporate government relations environment or similar Congressional fund-raising position
• Knowledge of and ability to apply Federal requirements for political activity disclosure and reporting
• Understanding of political and legislative processes
• Excellent presentation, verbal and especially written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi task independently and demonstrate sound judgment and decision making
• Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to work and contribute in a highly collaborative, team environment
• Excellent working knowledge of computer databases, spreadsheets and PowerPoint
• Experience with VOCUS or other PAC database system
• Ability to travel when needed
Education: BA/BS degree with a background in communication and/or political science is preferred.


Comparable accomplishments in PAC administration, political fund-raising and/or corporate government relations will be considered
