Managing Director Community and Government Affairs
In this role, you will provide leadership and strategic direction to government relations strategy and community relations programs to demonstrate Kaiser Permanente's involvement in the community. You will oversee Kaiser Permanente's government relations strategy to influence State and federal policy makers. You will also build strategic relationships with community leaders, elected officials, public agencies, and business/professional associations to educate and influence Kaiser Permanente's value and commitment to the communities we serve, strengthening our influence and visibility in the community.

Managing Director Community and Government Affairs
In this role, you will provide leadership and strategic direction to government relations strategy and community relations programs to demonstrate Kaiser Permanente's involvement in the community. You will oversee Kaiser Permanente's government relations strategy to influence State and federal policy makers. You will also build strategic relationships with community leaders, elected officials, public agencies, and business/professional associations to educate and influence Kaiser Permanente's value and commitment to the communities we serve, strengthening our influence and visibility in the community.
Qualifications include:
- At least ten years of experience in government relations, legislative, and health care policy arenas
- Extensive experience working with elected officials, staff, and governmental agencies
- Previous experience in health care policy
- Previous work experience in legislative and public policy analysis
- Previous work experience in a community based human service organization
- Experience working with elected officials, staff, and governmental agencies
- A bachelor's degree in public health, political science, social welfare, government operations, or related field
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal governmental agencies, and their processes and policies that affect the organization and health care community
- Knowledge of national, state, and local health care policy debate, issues, and players
- Knowledge of government relations and issues management principles, practices, and strategies used to resolve problems and achieve public consensus
- Policy analysis and assessment of politically sensitive elements and community impact
- Familiarity with new media and communication tools and vehicles
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, public speaking, influence, and collaboration skills with both executive teams and multidisciplinary groups
