Manager/Senior Manager, Issues Management and Corporate Social Responsibility

The Manager/Senior Manager, Issues Management and Corporate Social Responsibility's role will encompass two key areas of responsibility. First, the Manager/Senior Manager will lead day-to-day issues management and crisis communications for the BURGER KING® brand in North America to ensure the company stays ahead of emerging issues that could potentially impact the brand. This role will also support regional communications teams on issues with global impact as well as provide strategic counsel to senior leadership.

Secondly, the Manager/Senior Manager will oversee corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts for the BURGER KING® brand globally, serving as single-point-of-contact for all internal CSR stakeholders. This role will be required to maintain a pulse on CSR trends to help guide and inform the company's CSR efforts; facilitate the alignment of regional CSR efforts into the company's global CSR platforms; and advise senior leadership on CSR practices globally.

Additionally, the Manager/Senior Manager will manage, develop and deliver communications and public relations support for the HAVE IT YOUR WAY® Foundation initiatives to ensure positive media coverage of BKC's philanthropic efforts.

Principle Responsibilities:

 ·         Develop strategic crisis communications plans to address on-going and long-term issues.

 ·         Serve on issues management task force; participate in on-call issues management rotation.

 ·         Maintain corporate issues "watch list" and serve as primary contact for crisis escalations.

 ·         Draft and disseminate media statements, media advisories, internal Q&A's and executive message maps.

 ·         Serve as a spokesperson on behalf of the company; responding to daily media inquiries.

 ·         Maintain current and relevant information related to the company's global efforts and lead development of the company's   global CSR annual reports and updates.

 ·         Serve on company's CSR taskforce.

Job Requirements

Requirements/Qualifications:

 ·         The ideal candidate should have 10-15 years work experience in the crisis communications and public relations field, ideally with significant public relations agency or corporate communications experience. QSR or retail environment experience is a plus.

 ·         Related undergraduate degree (journalism/mass communications or public relations) is required.

 ·         Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communications skills.

 ·         Must work accurately and fast to meet tight deadlines.

 ·         Team player with strong organizational, interpersonal and prioritization skills. Flexible, adaptable and works effectively under pressure.

 ·         Ability to interact and develop relationships with executives at all levels of management.

 ·         Experience with project management software and well as computer applications like Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. also required.
