Manager, Government Relations, Energy Team
This position is responsible for leading B&W lobbying activities across the U.S. Government, including Congress and the Executive Branch. These activities will be directly related to B&W's clean energy R&D technology portfolio, including the B&W mPower reactor and Oxy-coal combustion technologies. In addition, this position will support activities related to B&W Nuclear Energy, Inc. and B&W Power Generation Group, Inc. by focusing on appropriations, energy legislation, as well as tax and trade policy.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Communicating with, educating and notifying Congress, the Executive Branch, trade organizations, think tanks and other stakeholder and external oversight groups on B&W activities
- Communicating with U.S.-allied foreign governments, state and local governments, Washington-based think tanks and other stakeholder and external oversight groups on B&W activities
- Developing strategies
- Advising B&W senior leadership on strategies to advance the Company's business interests in an increasingly competitive marketplace
- Writing reports and position papers
- Presenting reports and position papers before groups and at conferences
Job Requirements:
- Significant and relevant experience within the energy sector to include appropriations, tax/trade policy and national security is preferred
- Significant and relevant experience presenting energy and environmental matters before the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch is preferred
- Senior level congressional policy experience in the aforementioned areas is preferred
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Additional graduate work and/or approximately 10 years prior work experience in the aforementioned policy areas is preferred
- Position requires the ability and willingness to travel and work extended hours
- Position requires United States citizenship with no dual citizenship
- The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance as a condition of employment
