The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit, is driven by the power of knowledge to solve today's most challenging problems. The mission of the Pew Economic Policy Group (PEPG) is to promote policies and practices that strengthen the U.S. economy. The department seeks to advance solutions to complex economic policy issues by identifying strategic opportunities to educate and engage the public and policy makers. With a staff of approximately twenty-five individuals, the department is a growing unit, and the newest of Pew Charitable Trusts' four policy groups. This new position represents a unique opportunity to help build an emerging, nationally-known policy program within a leading public charity.
The Manager, Web Communications, Pew Economic Policy Group will work closely with new and existing projects as they integrate online communications into their plans. The successful candidate will manage the internal review process and publish content to project and campaign sites, including frequent updating of text, photography, slide shows and other materials in coordination with PEPG communications staff. This position will also lead internal process to create and maintain department Web site as part of broad, cross-organization site development, including being the point of contact for Pew Web team and an advocate for the department. This manager will leverage web platforms to support overarching communications goals utilizing latest content distribution and syndication channels (RSS/XML/Atom, social media, multi-media, etc.).
Candidates must offer at least eight years of related experience. Advanced degree or equivalent professional experience in marketing communications and project management with an agency, corporation or nonprofit organization required. This position reports to the officer, Communications, Pew Economic Policy Group and is based in Washington, DC.
