Manager, Public Affairs & Comm-Corp

DESCRIPTION:

Position reports to Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications. The Manager is primarily responsible for providing the strategic support for the CCE North American Business Unit leadership and executive communications, company messaging, and issue management support to maintain and enhance the company?s communications initiatives and strengthen our overall capabilities. Continues to protect and enhance the reputation and image of CCE and our brands by building relationships and effectively communicating with key internal stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the principal communications strategist and project manager for communications related deliverables in support of the corporate strategy and business objectives. Position also assists CCE North American Business Unit Public Affairs & Communications, working collaboratively with corporate and other functional teams, in the development of public relations initiatives with specific emphasis on communications. Supports Vice President in the execution of the department?s strategic business plan and overall communication values.
  • Manages and assists Vice President in key message development linked to corporate strategy, Board of Directors report and presentations, trade conference and speeches.
  • Executive and leadership event planning ? business meetings.
  • Manages internal communication routines by tracking, enforcing and monitoring the development, approval, and distribution of collateral material.
  • Support Vice President in the development of messaging to key internal audiences to assure consistency in the messaging to drive our strategic business and public affairs communications priorities.
  • Strategic communications ? work in a collaborative team environment to support the North American Business Unit?s strategic priorities.
  • Utilize and support message development for key initiatives.
  • Manage working closely with our Legal team ? litigation communications and messaging, and crisis communications
  • Monitor specific trends and upcoming issues, providing guidance to always stay in a proactive communications posture rather than a reactive one.
  • Support the department?s Issue Management guidelines as applied to industry and customers, environmental, corporate governance, and health and nutrition issues.
  • Support government relations in matters that influence in a positive way or reduce the impact of public policy, legislation, and regulation in our business.
  • Support department?s media relations/external communications guidelines that advances CCE?s business plan and successfully engages the media on key social, community and corporate citizen initiatives.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in communications, business, or related field.
  • Ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in business, financial communications, public relations, or public affairs in a large corporate environment with additional knowledge of investor relations, information technology, and sales and marketing communications.
  • Must have experience in working with senior leadership and developing messaging to communicate to internal and external audiences.
  • Strong communications and proven project management skills.
  • Experience in issues management with sound writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage positive client relationships and lead cross functional teams effectively.
  • Solution oriented, creative thinker, and proven ability to motivate others, including team members who are not direct reports.
  • Full-range comprehension of all communication vehicles, both internal and external.
