Launching SHRM-wide Blog and online press portal and video files in early 2010. Serving as point person for new PR visibility campaign and managing the campaign's external microsite. Drafting and getting approved by legal and Executive Team SHRM-wide social media guidelines, protocol and user rules. Expand HR and media blogger relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drafting, distributing and tracking SHRM social media news releases and incorporating SEO components to follow the ebb and flow of content being propagated throughout external social media and online news sites.
Serving as editor of the SHRM blog, contributing content to the SHRM Blog and promoting blog content to both SHRM members and HR professionals.
Defining and expanding SHRM brand and reputation throughout external social media sites by engaging external communities through regular comments, discussions, tweets and photosharing, as appropriate.
Research content SHRM creates for various ways of promoting and publicizing to external social media communities and online news sites.
Use various social media tracking tools to monitor number and tone of discussions about SHRM, SHRM content, and the HR profession.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
5-8 years working for a public relations or communications firm.
4 or more years working in social media marketing. Blogging experience (personal and/or professional that is updated frequently with original content); at least 150 Twitter followers and 200 Facebook friends.
Creativity and documented immersion in social media including: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, wikis, MySpace, Digg, SEO and YouTube
Understanding of core Web 2.0 principles
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Superb time management skills
Excellent writing and oral communications skills; experience and knowledge with social media PR platforms
Ability to work collaboratively.
