Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the nation's leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider, is seeking a ‘political junkie' with excellent organizational skills and experience in project management and budget development to provide high-level programmatic support to the Action Fund Board of Directors, the Nominating Committee and the Action Fund PAC Committee, to facilitate effective governance and fully maximize the involvement of national volunteers. Specific responsibilities include managing all aspects of PPFA Board, Nominating Committee, and PAX Committee communications, meeting with Congressional candidates and researching/ writing recommendations on candidates and districts, managing special projects (i.e. congressional events/receptions, convention committees), and overseeing development, implantation and maintenance of the Public Policy database and communications on the website. Requires Bachelor's degree (Political Science, Government or other issue-related degree preferred), and 3-5 years demonstrated experience, knowledge of reproductive health issues, elections and political campaigns, Congress, and Planned Parenthood's mission. Must have strong PC ability including MS Office, database proficiency, Internet research, word processing, and Excel spreadsheets, the ability to work under pressure, and superb communication skills.
