Duties and Responsibilities:
# Coordinate with the Public Affairs and Communications departments at corporate, the divisions and the individual networks to stay abreast of their pro-social campaigns and initiatives.
# Strategize with corporate, the divisions and networks to develop plans to highlight the company's pro-social work in Washington, DC to relevant constituency groups.
# Present opportunities for corporate, the divisions and the networks to collaborate with Capitol Hill, the Administration, and other political and non-political organizations in order to promote their pro-social agenda and continue to make Viacom's corporate social responsibility the face of the company in Washington, DC.
# At the direction of the EVP of Government Relations, the Manager will organize regular screenings of Paramount films, MTV Networks and BET Networks programming, as well as other events to highlight Viacom products and productions, in order to enhance the company's presence in Washington, DC;
# Identify and maintain third-party relationships of importance to the Government Relations office and Viacom.
# Develop, manage and handle the logistics of other special projects and events sponsored/hosted by Viacom and its brands, or in conjunction with outside political and non-political organizations;
# Manage the planning and general logistics associated with visits by senior Viacom executives to Washington D.C. or trips by Members of Congress and their staff, Administration personnel or Federal Agency personnel to Viacom's headquarters or divisional offices.
# Work directly with the Director of Government Relations on overseeing and administering the ViacomPAC, filing quarterly lobbying reports, organizing fundraisers, distributing the annual PAC solicitation, and developing and disseminating the bi-annual ViacomPAC Newsletter.
# Advise the EVP of Government Relations on the disbursement of the Government Relations' office's charitable budget.
# Serve as the Government Relations representative on the Viacom Corporate Responsibility Council.
# Assist the Government Relations office in handling trade association, legislative, and policy matters of importance to Viacom.

# Superb communication and interpersonal skills;
# Self motivation and an attention to detail;
# Proficiency in excel and powerpoint.
Job Experience:
# 5-7 years of experience in the non-profit and/or public affairs sector.
# Knowledge and familiarity with federal political fundraising is important.
# Demonstrated experience organizing and managing special events is essential.
Education:
# Bachelor's degree highly preferred
