Manager, Government Affairs

The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD) seeks a Manager, Government Affairs. The Manager will develop and maintain relationships with Congress, regulatory agencies, and other organizations to advance NACD's advocacy efforts; work with the Government Affairs Committee and Issue Task Groups to develop positions on legislative and regulatory proposals; write and submit comments to federal agencies and testimony to Capitol Hill; communicate information and updates to the NACD membership; plan and carry out periodic workshops and Webinars to educate members on legislative and regulatory developments; assist members with regulatory compliance questions; participate in coalitions on issues of common concern; monitor state and international issues that impact NACD members; manage the NACD Responsible Distribution PAC; and assist in the planning and execution of the annual Washington Fly-In.

In addition to excellent communications skills, the successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree; at least three to five years experience working with environmental and safety issues such as the Toxic Substances Control Act on Capitol Hill, in a federal agency, or in an association or company government affairs department; experience working with political action committees; the ability to manage a variety of issues and tasks; proficiency in Microsoft applications; and a familiarity with on-line advocacy tools and Webinar technology.
