Manager Corporate Communications
Function/Purpose:
Hasbro's Manager of Corporate Communications works directly with the Director of Global Public Relations for toys and the Vice President of Global Public Relations for games in the development, alignment, and execution of global communications initiatives, publicity-driven programs and projects. In addition, the manager will interact and assist both the Senior Vice President and Vice President of Global Corporate Communications as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Director of Global Public Relations for toys and the Vice President of Global Public Relations for games, you will:
1. Develop and execute public relations programs for a wide range of brands
2. Work on a daily basis with internal marketing brand teams and external PR agencies to ensure PR program objectives are being met
3. Develop strong professional relationships with key members of consumer, business and trade media.
4. Serve as a media contact throughout the year; especially in critical times preceding annual Toy Fair trade shows.
5. Collaborate on other Corporate Communications projects as needed.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a public relations agency or public relations department, preferably supporting a global brand, required.
Critical Skills:
Demonstrated innovation experience within the world of communications; a strategic leader who takes initiative and ownership
Ability to work in the social media space and to thrive in a fast-paced, service-orientated environment.
Creative mind with a track record of putting new ideas into practice and assessing results.
Understanding of social media platforms and the relevance social media brings to marketing plans and corporate image.
Ability to manage budgets and programs effectively
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to travel.
Excellent team building skills; ability to provide clear and concise direction/feedback to external and internal stakeholders and the ability to influence others to adopt his/her recommendations.
Strong project management abilities; capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints and within budget parameters.
Sense of humor a plus!
