Trusts, identifies and advances effective policy approaches to critical issues
facing states.
Position Overview
The Manager, Communications
position offers a unique opportunity for an individual to contribute to
exciting, high-profile initiatives. This position, based in Pew's Washington,
D.C. office, will report to the Pew Center on the States' Deputy Director,
Communications and will be part of the project staff in a growing Communications
department of the Center. The communications project manager is responsible for
developing and executing a comprehensive and robust communications program for
the Center's research and analysis agenda to increase the visibility and impact
of experts, research, initiatives and events with target audiences. This
position will also work in tandem with other Communications colleagues to plan
and execute integrated strategies, campaigns and outreach and other duties as
assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate will offer at least
8 years of direct experience in positions with communications/PR
responsibilities, with considerable expertise in media relations with knowledge
of pitching, media strategies. Experience in public policy preferred. A
Bachelor's degree with a focus on communications, journalism or related major,
such as an understanding of media operations, news organizations and new media
technologies is required. A graduate degree in public affairs, public policy or
journalism preferred.
