Legislative and GASPAC Specialist

The American Gas Association (AGA) represents 201 local energy companies committed to the safe delivery of clean natural gas to more than 64 million customers throughout the nation.  AGA is an advocate for natural gas utility companies and their customers and provides a broad range of programs and services for its members.

The Legislative and GASPAC Specialist will support and promote the association’s political action committee to its membership and Capitol Hill. 

S/he is responsible for increasing the size of GASPAC by educating the association’s membership and reaching new donors to include drafting consent and solicitation letters, and peer-to-peer solicitations by phone, meetings and fundraising events.  The specialist will serve as principal point of contact for GASPAC and its administrative expenses and be responsible for coordinating the GASPAC Contributions Subcommittee with the Director, Government Relations in all meetings and communications. The ability to organize, manage and follow up on internal and external meetings and events related to GASPAC and AGA lobbying efforts (national conventions, legislative forums and fundraisers) is essential.    

The position requires a minimum of five years of legislative or campaign experience and three years of political action committee experience, preferably in a trade association or corporate environment.  Knowledge of Federal Election Commission laws and filing requirements are necessary.  Additional qualifications include fundraising experience, experience in organizing meetings and events, strong written and oral communications skills and strong organizational skills with particular attention to detail and creativity.
