Legislative Affairs Officer

The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) seeks a Legislative Affairs Officer to assist in FASEB's research advocacy program. The individual will track legislative and policy developments affecting their constituents, draft congressional and membership correspondence, position papers and testimony, support the Director of Legislative Relations and Director of Public Affairs, represent FASEB and its member societies in meetings on Capitol Hill and with other coalition partners, and arrange and staff meetings for FASEB leadership.

The qualified candidate must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy or Biomedical Sciences, a minimum of three years in science and/or public policy and one year in Congressional relations and/or non-profit advocacy experience and demonstrate working knowledge of Federal regulatory and Congressional budget and legislative processes. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills, the ability to work in a team environment under pressure and meet deadlines are required.
