Association of Children's Hospitals seeks an Associate, Legislative Advocacy to focus on increasing member hospital involvement in sponsored legislative advocacy activities and programs.  Duties include recruiting member participation in, and providing support for, the Association's Advocacy Days, GR Planning Meeting and Retreat and on-line Legislative Action Center.  Also, maintain the N.A.C.H. grasstops database and developing tools and resources to assist member hospitals in their federal legislative advocacy activities. Bachelor's degree required in political science, health policy, communications or social sciences, plus a min. of 2 yrs of progressive experience in political organizing, community organizing or grassroots/grasstops program development.  Exp. on Capitol Hill, grassroots campaigns or a congressional campaign desired.  Exc. written & organizational skills, training exp. and public speaking ability required.  Knowledge of state and federal legislative processes, and the federal appropriations process, required. Knowledge of hospitals, health policy, and children's issues preferred.
