International Government Relations Officer (Asia)

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

The position of Assistant Vice-President, International Government and Industry Relations (International GAIRD), assists the head of international government relations for the enterprise. International GAIRD's mission is to advise the President of International on the design of strategic plans for projection of corporate image, influence and presence in domestic and international political and regulatory environments, and is responsible for company relationships with other financial services corporations operating internationally and relevant international trade and professional associations. The incumbent assists the head of International GAIRD in developing company positions, providing policy direction, coordinating operating unit government affairs initiatives and lobbying for the organization's interest. The position interacts with other international government relations staff and key business partners, as well as with outside consultants and counsel to achieve the legislative and regulatory goals of the company.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with foreign governments, regulators, industry leaders, trade associations and other opinion leaders in furtherance of the company's short and long term international objectives.

2. Developing and balancing company legislative priorities in coordination with business executives in the enterprise.

3. Creating and developing strong, high-level ties with key officials in the U.S. trade associations, government and various international agencies and commissions.

4. Proactively developing and coordinating international policy provisions with top company executives.

Job Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

•Excellent academic credentials
•5 or more years of experience in international government relations, or related field.

•Excellent analytical ability and oral and written communications skills. Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
•Ability to effectively interact with business clients, including senior management.
•Strong preference will be given to candidates with Asia-related professional experience. Korean, Chinese (Mandarin) or Japanese language skills a plus.
