Health Policy Manager of Oncology

Lead department policy analysis in all health policy matters affecting the Oncology portfolio, and advise business teams accordingly; support advocacy efforts of the Federal Affairs team; and work with external stakeholders to build relationships that will advance the Oncology policy priorities.


Job Responsibilities :
Develop strategic plan to advance Company Oncology business priorities in the government policy arena
Prepare analysis of legislation and policies with assessment of key opportunities and threats for Oncology portfolio
Collaborate with Company therapeutic area franchises, health systems and reimbursement, medical affairs and information, and other internal functions to assess the impact of emerging policies, and to develop Company positions and prioritize policy engagement
Represent Company and strengthen company relationships with external policy stakeholders including key advocacy groups, trade groups, and multiple federal stakeholders.

Requirements
Degree in healthcare-related discipline, life sciences, or business, or related experience required.

Minimum 4 years relevant experience required, preferably in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Government affairs/policy experience required, including dealing with non-industry stakeholders. Experience with national healthcare industry associations (especially PhRMA and BIO) preferred. Federal government experience in Administration, Department of Health & Human Services, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and/or U.S. Food and Drug Administration preferred.

Strong analytical skills and experience in a broad array of healthcare policy issues including Medicare, Medicaid, comparative effectiveness research, healthcare reform, Rx/Dx, and quality.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required.

Travel up to 25%.
