Grassroots Coordinator

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is the leading small business association representing small and independent businesses. A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 1943, NFIB represents the consensus views of its members in Washington and all 50 state capitals.

The Grassroots Coordinator coordinates activities and communications around the recruitment, mobilization and recognition of NFIB member activists. Coordinates the execution of NFIB's extensive issue and political advocacy communication campaigns with a focus on combining new media technologies with traditional communication channels. Coordinates the posting of legislative content on http://NFIB.com and works with internal stakeholders to ensure the organization's online resources are fully utilized. Serves as a primary liaison to key technology and creative consultants in order to integrate external expertise into the organization's day-to-day activities. Serves as a primary liaison to the organization's State Public Policy Department in order to maximize collaboration among federal and state staff members. Supports Federal Public Policy and Political Departments on various projects, events and activities. Proactively leverages grassroots activities to benefit Media, Sales, Marketing and Development Departments. Monitors and reports on best practices being developed within the grassroots advocacy industry which can be incorporated into the organization's programs. Performs administrative and other duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

2. Two (2) years of political/grassroots/Hill/trade association experience required.

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel, and Access.

4. Knowledge of the political process and the operations of the legislative and executive government branches helpful.

5. Team player possessing outstanding oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
