The Grassroots Coordinator assists the Grassroots Team with client-focused tasks as needed. Working with the client lead, the Grassroots Coordinator assesses and meets the needs of clients, implementing communications plans and technology solutions, and benchmarking their progress.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Works with and reports to Senior Account Manager on client projects as assigned.
Coordinate strategy and content for communications, including direct mail, phones, canvassing, blast email, website and social media.
Track client projects, benchmarks and timelines using Excel.
Oversee client conversions to in-house software suite, and train clients on the relevant parts of the software.
Plan, oversee and test any custom software solutions and custom programming for clients.
Draft newsletters, calls to action, web content for clients as needed.
Develop sales leads and upsells as part of larger department goals.
Attend events as a representative of the company and the department.
Blog regularly on corporate blog.
Required:
BA in political science, communications, international affairs or related field.
1-3 years of experience on campaigns or on Capitol Hill.
Ability to problem-solve.
Excellent writing skills.
Ability to research issues quickly and thoroughly.
Ability to work on projects independently as well as part of inter-departmental teams.
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and finish multiple tasks quickly.
Proficiency in Microsoft software suite and tools.
Basic HTML knowledge.
Desired:
Experience writing a field or campaign plan.
Experience using social networks and web 2.0 techniques in a professional context.
Familiarity with grassroots concepts and best practices.
Knowledge of how Capitol Hill works.
Interest in politics.
