Grassroots Coordinator

General Description:  The Grassroots Coordinator assists the Grassroots Team with client-focused tasks as needed.  Working with the client lead, the Grassroots Coordinator assesses and meets the needs of clients, implementing communications plans and technology solutions, and benchmarking their progress.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works with and reports to Senior Account Manager on client projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate strategy and content for communications, including direct mail, phones, canvassing, blast email, website and social media.
  • Track client projects, benchmarks and timelines using Excel.
  • Oversee client conversions to in-house software suite, and train clients on the relevant parts of the software.
  • Plan, oversee and test any custom software solutions and custom programming for clients.
  • Draft newsletters, calls to action, web content for clients as needed.
  • Develop sales leads and upsells as part of larger department goals.
  • Attend events as a representative of the company and the department.
  • Blog regularly on corporate blog.

Required:

  • BA in political science, communications, international affairs or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience on campaigns or on Capitol Hill.
  • Ability to problem-solve.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to research issues quickly and thoroughly.
  • Ability to work on projects independently as well as part of inter-departmental teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and finish multiple tasks quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software suite and tools.
  • Basic HTML knowledge.

Desired:

  • Experience writing a field or campaign plan.
  • Experience using social networks and web 2.0 techniques in a professional context.
  • Familiarity with grassroots concepts and best practices.
  • Knowledge of how Capitol Hill works.
  • Interest in politics.
