Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is seeking a Government Relations Specialist to join our Public Affairs department to monitor and evaluate state legislation and regulatory issues and assess potential effects on Mayo Clinic. Responsibilities include coordinating Mayo's responses to issues and state government decisions, communicating with policy makers in state legislature and other agencies or groups and working collaboratively with the Director of Federal Government Relations.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in political science, government relations or related field, at least five years' experience in government relations and knowledge of health care legislation, regulatory policies, and political and legislative processes.
Our preferred candidate will have a master's or JD degree, ability to understand and counsel others about complex policy proposals/regulations, and good working relationships with Mayo Clinic staff, elected officials and staff and leaders within organizations in the health care public policy arena.
