Specific Job Description Position reports to the Vice President for Federal and State Government Relations & PAC Affairs. Supports LDA compliance, internal audit and record keeping of LM lobbying activity, filing of LM data for lobbying disclosure, and development of training materials for industry best practices. Position works in close coordination with the Senior Manager for Federal and State Government Relations & PAC Affairs to support PAC related activity. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities include:
LDA Issues
Maintaining detailed records for all LM lobbyists to ensure accurate accounting of lobbying activity, time spent on lobbying, and associated costs
Supporting the filing of all necessary documents with the Congress and responses to government agencies regarding LDA compliance
Responding to periodic audits of the Wash Ops Legislative Team and other LM personnel to ensure full compliance with the Lobbying Disclosure Act and Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007
Development of materials and guidance to communicate with Wash Ops personnel on actions necessary for LDA compliance.
PAC Issues
Tracking federal and state political fundraisers and requests for LMEPAC support
Data entry into the Vocus System to track LMEPAC disbursements and receipts
Scheduling LMEPAC breakfast and lunch meetings with key Members of Congress
Responding to periodic audits of LMEPAC
Supporting meetings of the LMEPAC Board of Directors
Managing the LMEPAC gift program
Tracking Congressional primaries
Updating LMEPAC promotional materials
Managing LMEPAC outreach, direct mailings, communications and logistics for presentations
Managing related community affairs activities
Required skills Prior experience with corporate audits, basic accounting, PAC management and FEC rules, as well as familiarity with federal and state legislative and regulatory process.
Must be detail-oriented, highly motivated and able to perform multiple tasks in pressure situations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must be a team player.
Must have knowledge of the defense/aerospace industry and a strong interest in politics.
Desired skills Capitol Hill experience
Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
